VISUAL IDENTITY
APPROACH
Expression through intimacy & scale.
With Esto Es Vida, I created the visual identity in collaboration and conversation with Dorian Ulises López Macías. My approach to the visual identity for this exhibition was to combine the intimacy of Dorian’s approach to capturing his subjects with the scale at which they would be displayed in the exhibition.
The intimacy of Dorian’s approach is represented through custom, hand-painted typography, emulating his signature style, and the scale of his subjects is defined by the use of skin as texture, hinting at but not revealing the size of the photographs.
PR/SOCIAL ASSETS
Keeping the materiality of the exhibition in mind, we created motion assets for social media and PR use that emulated fabric banners, further hinting at the design elements of the exhibition without explicitly revealing them.
SPACE FLOW
I was responsible for translating all photographs and fashion films provided by Dorian into a variety of mediums that would comprehensively make up the space flow of the show.
Keeping with the core concepts of materiality as well as intimacy & scale, I created a variety of design elements ranging from large-scale, floor-to-ceiling prints to overhead fabric banners to large-scale vinyl installations including typography as well as photography to an intimate projection room showcasing Dorian's fashion films through an elevated experience.
